About Us

The Gulf Coast Harmonizers is a membership organization of singers who meet regularly to practice, perform, socialize and have fun. We typically have 20 to 30 singers from all walks of life and from all parts of Lee and the surrounding counties. We have been entertaining Southwest Florida since 1992.

We are a performing chorus:

Our main purpose is to entertain our community.  We typically plan two shows annually, sing at a number of community events, and occasionally compete in district competitions. We also perform singing telegrams around Valentine’s Day.  Quartets, dressed in red & white surprise their recipient at work or home singing Let Me Call You Sweetheart (plus a card, candy & a long stem red rose). Our chorus and quartets are available to sing at your next function or event.  If you are looking for a unique musical experience to liven up your event, give us a call.

Music Education:

Reading music is not required. We provide educational systems including learning tracks to assist you in learning the Barbershop style of singing.

Quartets:

Most choruses have a number of members who form their own quartets in addition to singing with the chorus.  This is another fun activity that you may really enjoy. Whether you are part of an impromptu quartet delivering singing valentines or part of an established 4-some entertaining folks at shows and special events, quarteting is a great way to become a better Barbershop singer.

Community Charitable Donations:

One of the core values of The Gulf Coast Harmonizers is community involvement and support through the joy and art of Barbershopping.  In addition to providing complementary shows for hospitals and care centers, we are proud to have donated over $50,000 to local charities. Below is a partial list of those organizations.

  • Children’s Lee Health Foundation
  • Miles of Smiles
  • Veterans Foundation
  • Sunshine District for Harmony Explosion Youth Camps
