Meet the Director

Hello everyone! I’m thrilled to introduce myself as the new Director of the GulfCoast Harmonizers. My name is Joshua Nieves, and I believe in the power of music to unite and uplift individuals from all walks of life.

I’ve always had a love for music even as a small child and continued my musical journey by studying music at FSU, where I honed my skills and fostered a deep appreciation for the art. Since then, I have dedicated years of my life to serving in various churches, currently serving as  Music Director at New Life Assembly.

For over a decade, I have fervently pursued the art of barbershop singing. In addition to nourishing my own passion, I have been fortunate to sing in numerous quartets, which have further elevated my understanding and execution of this unique vocal style.

But my deepest passion lies in fostering a community of men of all ages who share a love for singing. I am dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment where voices can blend in perfect harmony, and where camaraderie and laughter are woven into the very fabric of our chorus.

Together, we will embark on an extraordinary journey of musical exploration, pushing the boundaries of our vocal abilities, and captivating audiences with our soulful performances. I believe that music has the power to heal, inspire, and bring people together, and I am eagerly driven to share this incredible gift with the wider community.
